David James (born 1990) is a Brighton based visual artist and film-maker working in 8mm and 16mm film, photography, print, painting and digital compositions. James’s work often uses bleak imagery from photographs taken in spaces recovering from their time spent serving human purposes. His practice is an exploration of the human experience, of consumption, mythology, literature and lust. Born in Shoreham-by-sea, West Sussex and grew up in Brighton, UK. He earned a Higher diploma in professional musicianship from the British Institute of Modern Music, and a Bachelor of Fine Art from Kingston University London, where he also embarked on the exchange programs spending semesters studying at the National Taiwan University of Arts, Taiwan and the Universidad de Vigo, Spain.
